5 Days BIG FIVE Wildlife safari at Murchison Falls National Park
Have you thought about a primate and wildlife experience? Then look no further than booking this amazing 5 days tour to the Murchison Falls National Park that is located in the north western part of the African pearl. The park is 3848sqkm’s big and is home to a number of wildlife such as lions, leopards, chimpanzees, elephants, buffalos, hippos and much more.
The park is also famous for the magnificent world’s strongest waterfall the falls through the 45m deep narrow gorge and flows north to Lake Albert through the Victoria Nile the bisects the mighty park into two sections forming the south and northern banks. The south is occupied by lots of woodland and tropical rainforest vegetation that gives you a chance to spot the amazing chimps in the wild and lots more forest wildlife. The northern is occupied by open savanna and riverine vegetation that offer an opportunity for great wildlife sighting such as giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards and over 420 different bird species.
On this trip you expect to encounter the Big 5 African wildlife that rule the jungle and that is the lion, leopard, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. You also expect to visit the chimps in one of the densest East African rainforests and encounter much more forest wildlife. You also expect a boat trip on the Victoria Nile that will bring you to the bottom of the world’s strongest waterfall as you enjoy sights of hippos, crocodiles and much more water wildlife on the river banks. Expect to visit the top of the falls either by doing a hike or driving up depending on your strength that will reward with the real waterfall experience.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park from your desired place of pick up. Expect to visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a walk to the white rhinos.
Day 2: Early morning chimpanzee trekking/ habituation in the Budongo Forest and afternoon transfer to the top of the falls for either a hike to the major points or just enjoy the sound and views of the mighty waterfalls.
Day 3: Early morning safari on the northern side of the Murchison Falls National Park for wildlife sighting such as giraffes, antelopes, lions, leopards, elephants, hyenas, warthogs, hippos and lots of wildlife savanna bird species. Expect an afternoon launch trip on the Victoria Nile that will bring you to the bottom of the mighty waterfalls.
Day 4: Half day safari of full day safaris with breakfast and lunch breaks to increase our chances of spotting amazing wildlife around the park.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala/ Entebbe.
